Katie McDade
Volunteer Coordinator
About:
Katie brings an array of experiences to the role of Volunteer Coordinator for RAM and signature events at Riverside Avondale Preservation. Previously, she has served in both national and international service organizations where she had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds, and connected with them through service. As a Jacksonville native, Katie is excited to see the growth of Jacksonville and the commitment Riverside has to connect the community through relationships and events like RAM.
Katie graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Spanish, Katie is thrilled to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and see all the creativity and energy at RAM. Contact Katie for any questions about becoming a volunteer at RAM, or getting more involved with RAP signature events, such as Home Tour, Yarden Tour, Music Tour, or the Luminaria.
In her free time, you can find Katie finding the best sunset spots, thrifting, making arts and crafts, or enjoying a freshly brewed cuppa coffee.
Previous Experiences:
As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer of Sustainable Agriculture in the East African country of Tanzania, community-based capacity building is her bread and butter. She relates with the “boots-on-the-ground” approach that non-profit organizations, like RAP, utilizes. Also, Katie served as a Team Leader for a national service organization, AmeriCorps, where she worked closely with young individuals who are interested in civil service and non-profit work.
About RAM:
"I grew up coming to RAM on the weekends and flaunting what I bought from local artists at school- it was always so cool to see people’s reactions when they learned an artist made what I was wearing. It’s a full circle moment for me to return to my hometown after traveling and be a part of what RAM is doing for the community and small business owners at large. I’m stoked to see how Jacksonville grows even more because RAM has been and will continue to be a cornerstone of this great city!"
